S L M Trailers, LLC (formerly: South Lyon Motors) was established as a used car dealer in 1964 by John W. Bakhaus Jr. The office was located at 103 S. Lafayette. John was a businessman & dairy farmer all of his life. His son John W. Bakhaus III (Bill) worked part time until 1970 when South Lyon Motors moved to 215 S. Lafayette. For eleven years father & son worked together selling cars & horse trailers.

In 1981 John decided to retire and sold the business to his son Bill. As the years passed, South Lyon Motors began selling more trailers than used cars. In 1994 Bill decided trailer sales & service was the way to go. We presently sell for 15 trailer manufactures that we believe offer high quality products. Our sales record has earned us award winning national recognition with several of our trailer manufactures.

We are pleased to announce our dream facility has come true. We have just completed a new dealership at 6480 Whitmore Lake Rd. in Whitmore Lake, MI. South Lyon Motors is now S L M Trailers, LLC. We now have a 4800 sq. ft. full service/repair and parts facility and a 1200 sq. ft. office and display area. Our goal is to provide our customers with quality products and services at a reasonable price. Open 9am - 6pm Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm Saturday - Winter hrs Sat 9am-noon Oct 1-March 1
